According to his bio: Nick Mann (aka Doodles) is San Francisco based street artist who's eye grabbing work can be simply described as modern day folk art (only it's not that simple). His creations are a complicated combination of delicately wheat-pasted pieces of paper, gritty spray paint, and eerie neon nordic creatures.

His show titled "Dont Take Vaccines" is at Needles + Pens • 3253 16th Street • SF, CA. 94103 through May 9th 2010.

i shall check it out today on my afternoon jaunt around the neighborhood.

fireflies in the night whisper

as i was coming home from a lively well needed run last night, i stopped in my tracks in front of this gallery. the photos above do not do it justice as it is more of seeing these individual pieces as the whole installation... i recommend a gander. worth it. eyes will delight.

The 60-foot plastic-bottle boat will depart this spring to sail some 11,000 miles to Sydney. With a deckside vegetable garden, solar and wind power, and other green "surprises," the Plastiki is at the leading edge of sustainable technologies.
