the machine as landscape
David O'Brien received a degree from Virginia Tech College of Architecture and started out working under famed architect Frank Gehry for a few years before branching out on his own to pursue fine art. O'Brien‘s background in architecture is evident within his work, where abstract compositions seem to crystallize into patterns of mathematical rigidity, while seeming to flow with the serendipity of a constellation or school of fish.
