tic tac toe

im gonna try my hand at making a quilt...... my mom was a ginormous quilter when i was little, partly because she is the craftiest woman in the world but also because there is something incredibly sentimental about a handmade quilt. i may not have understood when i was a wee tot, but i get it now. we still have all my and my brothers baby quilts.
also its nice to see a tradition living on with my dearest beloved kell bell who makes quilts like its as easy as making a pbj sandwich. im inspired. lets see how it goes....

rural in plural

i grew up in a town that is as rural as it gets.....a little town called Hope. no joke! these little beauties reminded me of the simplicity that comes from being super off the map. woods & trees. farms & cows. up until a few years ago, it was still one of the only towns in new jersey that still did not have cable. exit 12. i salute you.

no code of conduct

According to Wikipedia, Joan Miro's work has been interpreted as Surrealism, a sandbox for the subconscious mind, a re-creation of the childlike, and a manifestation of Catalan pride. In numerous interviews dating from the 1930s onwards, Miró expressed contempt for conventional painting methods as a way of supporting bourgeois society, and famously declared an "assassination of painting" in favor of upsetting the visual elements of established painting.

history is delicious.
