escapism

Escapism is mental diversion by means of entertainment or recreation, as an "escape" from the perceived unpleasant or banal aspects of daily life. It can also be used as a term to define the actions people take to help relieve persisting feelings of depression or general sadness

im gonna try my hand at making a quilt...... my mom was a ginormous quilter when i was little, partly because she is the craftiest woman in the world but also because there is something incredibly sentimental about a handmade quilt. i may not have understood when i was a wee tot, but i get it now. we still have all my and my brothers baby quilts.
also its nice to see a tradition living on with my dearest beloved kell bell who makes quilts like its as easy as making a pbj sandwich. im inspired. lets see how it goes....

40 years in the making

180º SOUTH Trailer from Woodshed Films on Vimeo.

Chris Malloy’s film strikes so deeply into the heart of Patagonia’s wilderness we come to feel at home there. 180° South: Conquerors of the Useless follows Jeff Johnson as he retraces the epic 1968 journey of his heroes Yvon Chouinard and Doug Tompkins to Patagonia. Along the way he gets shipwrecked off Easter Island, surfs the longest wave of his life – and prepares himself for a rare ascent of Cerro Corcovado.

big up: website designed by Peter McBride. you're radical badical, Monsieur McBride.
